The blue color extends from the Yorkies neck to the base of the tail with no visible tan or gold. Puppies are born with a black coat and as they mature it changes to blue and tan. Still there is a slim chance that you can find a Black Yorkie dog.

Yorkie Puppies usually have a tan and black coat when they newly-born. Their ribs are well sprung and they have good loins. The combination of its inherited genes from its sire and dam at conception and the development of the fetus into a thriving new born puppy determines the health and makeup of the glandular system that supplies the pigment for the hair.

The hair at the base of the ears and on the muzzle is slightly darker and no tan should reach beyond the ears. The blue color stretches from the neck to the base of the tail and no tan or gold is visible. But sometimes the Yorkshire Terrier will have different color-fall.

This golden color should not go past the neck and it should not have any black or silver hair. Parti Yorkies black white and tan colors. However it depends on the severity of your allergies.
